I'm really happy with the way our front page turned out this week.
Gareth Davies spent hours tracking down London Road's forgotten riot victims, hearing their stories and discovering horrendous tales of bankruptcy, businesses in ruins and broken promises, with many not having seen a penny of compensation since the horrendous events of August 8, 2011.
It made for an interesting but, also, deeply sad double-page spread and an incredibly powerful splash. There's no hook as such, no landmark ruling or anniversary, but just a very timely reminder of how the riot scars still run deep in our town, especially along the London Road.
Elsewhere inside the paper we have a contender for Croydon's most honest man, plans for another historic Croydon pub to be turned into a supermarket, and reveal the school which is banning fizzy drinks - a good move in my book, even if I do get through about 5 cans of Diet Coke every day.
And then, of course, there's Adrian Durham's take on the Crystal Palace penalty controversy.
Those who follow me on Twitter will have seen our decision to give the talkSPORT host a platform for his views hasn't exactly been universally welcomed. As I write this however, the article is the third most read story on our 100+ websites across the country.
Plenty of you won't agree with what he's said, but it seems that just as many want to read it.
In case you haven't seen the comment piece today's paper, here's my take on this issue and our reasons for ultimately running the piece. I know many of you won't agree with them, but I hope you understand where we're coming from...

NOTHING stirs the emotions, both positive and negative, quite like football.
Anger, joy, despair, ecstasy – we feel these emotions  every Saturday when our team plays, with every goal, every missed chance, every poor refereeing decision.
We're also fiercely loyal to our teams and will defend them to the hilt. It's a bit like the way we feel about our hometown; we'll happily say it's a terrible place to live but, as soon as someone else dares to criticise, we'll fight its honour to the very last inch.
Similarly, we hate the idea someone else could have a negative opinion of our football club.
Radio host Adrian Durham has made a few snide comments about Crystal Palace and, as you'd expect, the Selhurst faithful are unimpressed.  far from impressed.
A vocal section of Eagles fans were similarly unimpressed this week when we announced plans to give Mr Durham a platform to air his views. To make a few points absolutely clear:

This newspaper wholeheartedly disagrees with Adrian Durham. Ian Holloway is a fine manager and great ambassador for his club and, while Palace have had the odd questionable decision in their favour this season, it's nonsense to suggest refs feel intimidated by them.

While we take great pride in promoting Palace and providing the best possible coverage week on week, we aren't the fanzine or matchday programme. We invite other viewpoints, even if these aren't necessarily views shared by all fans.

Whatever you think of Mr Durham, he hosts one of the biggest shows in UK radio. It would have been odd to allow his views to simply go unreported and unquestioned.

This is a balanced piece. Our Eagles correspondent, Mark Ritson, and various fans are given their say on page 62. It's not simply a forum to allow Mr Durham to tear into the club.

For all this, we want our paper to be something Palace fans want to read every week – the ultimate source of news and views from Selhurst Park. It's hardly in our interests to alienate a large slice of our readership.
Please read the piece and take it in the context of our coverage as a whole, which is also this week full of views from players, the manager and supporters.
If you're still not happy, let us know and we'll look again at our approach.
