Officers taken to hospital after police cars collide in Croydon

TWO police officers have been taken to hospital after a collision between two police cars in the early hours of this morning. The crash occurred in Northcote Road, Selhurst, at around 3.30am today (Tuesday). Firefighters from Croydon and Norbury fire stations were called but the officers had already been helped from the vehicles by paramedics. The Advertiser understands that there were two officers in both cars and the vehicles were both on blue emergency lights at the time of the crash. According to a firefighter at the scene two officers were taken to hospital. They are not thought to have been seriously injured. A London Ambulance Service (LAS) spokeswoman said: "We were called just before 3.30am to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars in Northcote Road. "We sent two ambulance crews and a single responder in a car. "Two patients were taken to Croydon University Hospital. They were not taken as a priority."
