TOM Ince took a number of positives away from Crystal Palace's defeat to Manchester United on Saturday despite a 2-0 defeat.
The attack-minded player started out on the wing this time instead of behind a lone frontman, and he believes if the Eagles could have held out a bit longer at nil-nil, Palace may have snatched something.
"You always know when you get the top teams at home, they're bonus games for us," said Ince.
We gave it a good go, we enjoyed it, and up until the penalty it could have gone either way.
"We needed to hold out another 10-15 minutes and the game could have got exciting and opened up.
"They obviously got the penalty and then you can't give Wayne Rooney that type of space around the box (for the second).
"The lads dug-in so well and put in a shift over 90 minutes. Sometimes the ball didn't break for us in the box but these are the games you've got to enjoy.
"This weekend's game against Swansea is what we'll be looking at to get our teeth in to.
"From a personal point, it's great for my second game. I've still got to build for my development and learn about Premier League football.
"I enjoyed it against a top team and the standard you've got to reach. You have to take positives from the game and we go into Swansea looking to win."
