A VAN has collided with a building in South Croydon after hitting a lamp post, leaving a 'number of walking wounded'.
Witnesses said the van had collided with Axis on Brighton Road, near Swan and Sugarloaf. The road has been closed southbound near the junction with Nottingham Road.
A Met spokesman said: "We were called by London Fire Brigade (LFB) at 12.50pm to reports of a white transit van in a collision with a lamp post.
"London Ambulance Service and LFB are attending the scene, they have closed the road southbound."
He said there were "a number of walking wounded", though it is not yet clear whether pedestrians had been injured in the collision.
