A MAN has suffered serious injuries after a collision with a car in Thornton Heath this evening.
The collision occurred at the junction of Heath Road and Parchmore Road at approximately 5.50pm.
Police and London Ambulance Service attended and the pedestrian, reported to be in his 50s, was taken to a south London hospital.
Police initially described his injuries as 'life-threatening' but have now down-graded that description to 'not life threatening or life changing'.
The man has rib fractures and injuries to his left side.
The driver stopped at the scene and the collision occurred in the road. No arrests have been made.
It is the second serious incident on a dreadful day for Croydon's roads after a man, also reported to be in his 50s died after being hit by a lorry in Wellesley Road at around 2.30pm.
There are road closures in place in the area surrounding the Thornton Heath incident.
