A MAN has died after being hit by a lorry in Croydon town centre.
The man, understood to be in his fifties, was struck by the vehicle in Wellesley Road at around 2.30pm today (Thursday).
London Ambulance Service (LAS) sent the air ambulance and paramedics via road.
An LAS spokesman said: "Sadly the man was dead at the scene."
Wellesley Road has been closed both ways between Fairfield Halls roundabout and St James's Road.
