A MAN accused of historical sexual offences against a boy at a children's home in Kenley has appeared in court.
Philip Collins, 68, is accused attempted rape and 16 counts of indecent assault against the same child at Malvern House, Foxley Road, between 1968 and 1979.
The boy was under the age of 14 at the time of the majority of the alleged offences.
Collins, of Holly Court, Worcester Road, Sutton, appeared at Croydon Crown Court on Wednesday (October 15).
He did not enter a plea to any of the 17 charges but a date for a potential trial was set for April 20, 2015.
Collins was given conditional bail ahead of a plea and case management hearing on January 16.
He must not contact the boy or have unsupervised contact with any person under the age of 16.
