MAROUANE Chamakh was delighted to make his first appearance for nearly a month on Saturday against Leicester City following a hamstring injury.
The striker came on in the second half and nearly found the back of the net with a diving header.
The 30-year-old could have been rushed back to face Everton the previous weekend or the League Cup clash with Newcastle, but boss Neil Warnock didn't want the Moroccan to possibly break down again.
"I was very happy to come back and play," he said. "I have worked really hard for the last month after my injury at Newcastle.
"It was good to take three points as they were confident after their game with Manchester United.
"It's good for us, our confidence and going into the next game. We won, I came back and played, so I was happy.
"I didn't want to take any risks because last year I had the same injury, I came back and was then out for two weeks.
"I didn't want to take a risk this time."
