DESPITE its reputation for being something of a concrete jungle Croydon has more green space than many other areas of London.
In fact, Croydon's parks and recreation grounds have recently won the latest in a series of awards.
Now a parkland campaigner has helped map Croydon - and the rest of the capital's - green space.
The images were produced by Daniel Raven-Ellison, who is campaigning for London to become Britain's 16th National Park, and environmental data collectors Greenspace Information for Greater London (GiGL).
Their work shows that 47 per cent of London is "green" and 60 per cent is classed as "open space".
