NOTTINGHAM Forest first teach coach Brian Eastick today played down talk that Nottingham Forest are close to signing former Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha on loan - but hinted that the highly-rated England man might be a player the club would be interested in if he was available.
Eastick says the 21-year-old Manchester United man is a player whose qualities both he and Stuart Pearce know very well, having worked with him as part of the England set-up.
And Zaha is thought to be one of several potential loan signings who are on the club's radar.
But growing rumours that a deal has already been done seem a little premature, not least because Forest would almost certainly face competition from numerous Premier League clubs for Zaha, if United were willing to let him out on loan.
"I don't take any notice of rumours," he told the Nottingham Post.
"Obviously we know him very well, because we have worked with him with the development sides and the under-21 team, within the England set-up.
"But put it this way, he will not be part of the squad at Tranmere tomorrow."
Zaha has been linked with a move back to Palace on a number of occasions in the last year after struggling to establish himself at Old Trafford.
