CRYSTAL Palace attacking midfielder Jake Gray was delighted to get more minutes under his belt in pre-season after turning out for the club's Development Squad on Tuesday. The young Eagles lost 3-2 to Bromley in an entertaining encounter at Hayes Lane, but Gray and his team-mates were frustrated with two of the goals conceded in particular. Gray starred for the first team in Austria and the United States with a couple of goals and was on the bench at Brentford on Saturday but didn't feature under Tony Pulis. The Development Squad take on Fulham later this week and Gray could be involved again if he's not selected for the first team's trip to Augsburg. "We got done by two set-pieces, which we were disappointed about," he told the Advertiser. "We are usually very strong. Last season we hardly conceded from those situations but we're only going to learn from it and improve on our mistakes. "It was good to be back with the lads though and get some minutes under my belt though. "It felt good and I felt fit after a good pre-season. They were valuable minutes and I hope to keep pushing on to be ready for the season, wherever it takes me. "Fulham will be another good test. They have a lot of good players from their Academy and they are always tough when we play them. "Hopefully it will be a good game."
