BOLD squatters who made Norbury police station their home for over a fortnight have moved out.
Officers from Croydon Metropolitan Police Service attended the station, in London Road, on Wednesday (April 2) and no one was in the building.
A group of about 15 eastern Europeans moved into the building on March 15 and told officers they would not leave until they were served with an eviction notice.
The Advertiser spoke to one of the squatters last Tuesday (March 25) who told us the squatters were planning to leave this week after they were served with eviction papers.
However, police denied this was the case and that they were still preparing them.
The station was abandoned after it was put up for sale as part of police budget cuts, along with stations at South Norwood and Kenley.
The squatter told us the group were disappointed because they wanted to stay for longer.
Police have since made the building secure.
