The council has said there is no definite date for when Godstone Road will eventually reopen, to the dismay of businesses in Kenley.
"The re-opening of Godstone Road has been a major priority for the council as we fully appreciate the inconvenience to residents and motorists and the loss of trade being faced by businesses," a council spokesman said.
"At the same time we have to protect the pipes running along the length of the road as the risk of further flooding has not yet passed and several pipes have already been damaged by vehicles ignoring the closure notices.
"We're also planning for the long-term and considering how the current work can be used to ensure we have plenty of options to reduce the impact of high levels of rainfall in the future.
"Right now everyone is working hard to get the road ready for traffic.
"Given progress so far the earliest possible date when this might be possible would be March 19.
!However this is dependent upon successful tests of the newly laid pipe network so we cannot give a 100 per cent assurance and motorists should look out for announcements on or after this date."
Abdul Jabbar, the manager at Saffron on the Parade in Kenley, said the businesses were losing more and more customers as the road continued to stay closed.
