CRYSTAL Palace manager Tony Pulis admitted the decision to award Manchester United the penalty which led to their first goal was correct. Referee Michael Oliver pointed to the spot after Marouane Chamakh tripped Patrice Evra, as the United full-back marauded into the area. Robin Van Persie converted the 62nd minute penalty, with Wayne Rooney finishing well for the second six minutes later, as the Champions ran out 2-0 winners. In his post-match comments, Pulis had no complaints about the penalty award. He said: I thought it was a penalty – Cham's come across him. He's worked really hard but I don't think he played very well today. "He just made a bad decision, caught Evra and it was a penalty." Despite the defeat, Pulis took plenty of heart from Palace's display - especially defensively - in match played in a lively atmosphere at Selhurst Park. He said: "I thought United had a couple of good chances in the first half and on another day they could have scored. ""They've not had many chances though, the keeper's not made any saves."
