TONIGHT'S match between Crystal Palace and Everton at Goodison Park was called off - just 30 minutes before kick-off.
Despite extreme weather warnings throughout the day, the decision was only taken to postpone the game at the 11th hour, leaving Palace fans who'd made the long journey furious.
A tweet from the Official CPFC account said: "Tonight's match against #efc has been postponed due to effects from the adverse weather conditions #cpfc"
Everton FC confirmed the match had been postponed on "police advice" due to concern about damage to buildings on Goodison Road, outside the ground.
The Met Office issued a Red weather warning earlier today, with winds of up to 90mph battering the north-west of England.
But the match was only called off at around 7.15pm - after the team line-ups had been named and plenty of fans and the two sides had already arrived at the stadium.
The late decision has left Eagles fans furious.
James Sandford tweeted: "Does make you wonder that the @premierleague should do more to schedule local fixtures for midweek games. Unfair on fans."
No date has yet been set for the game to be rearranged.
A statement released by Everton FC on Wednesday evening said: "Everton officials will speak to the Premier League on Thursday morning to open discussions on when the rearranged game with Crystal Palace can take place.
"The game was postponed on Wednesday evening due to damage sustained to buildings surrounding the stadium and safety concerns for spectators visiting Goodison Park."
