THE roof of the Tesco Express in Whitehorse Road, Croydon, is said to be in a 'precarious position' as emergency services have closed the surrounding roads.
Whitehorse Road has been closed both ways as winds are thought to have caused some of the roof to collapse.
A fireman from Croydon Fire Station said that police were on the scene to secure the area.
A Met Police spokesman said part of the roof was hanging off the building and that officers thought the incident serious enough to put road closures in place in the area.
