A MEMBER of staff has denied helping a convicted murderer escape a mental health unit.
Dean Ablakwa, 29, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court last Thursday and pleaded not guilty to helping killer Lerone Boye escape the John Howard Centre in east London on October 16.
Boye, 27, was eventually arrested in Chigwell last Tuesday (January 21) after nearly 100 days on the run.
He was jailed for 28 years in December 2012 for his part in the murder of New Addington teenager Kelvin Chibueze in Ilford in August 2011.
Ablakwa is due back in court for his trial, which is expected to last up to a week, on April 23.
