CRYSTAL Palace boss Tony Pulis says new Hull City strike duo Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long were not targets for the Eagles.
Speculation had suggested Palace were interested in signing either, but realistically they were never going to stump up the same level of money the Tigers did for their services.
And Pulis recognises the board of directors will not put the club in danger of collapsing like it nearly did in 2010.
Hull arrive at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night with their new signings leading the line and the boss recognised his side have a tough task of stopping them.
He said: "We did OK up there. We won 1-0, had a player sent off and it was a great result. But tomorrow will be very difficult.
"I have got a lot of time for Steve (Bruce) and he's done a wonderful job there.
"It will be a tough game for us. Jelavic and Long will probably play together for the first time and bolster their chances of scoring goals.
"Those two were never on my radar. What we've got is a football club that only came out of administration three years ago and was very, very close to going belly up.
"To be where they are now is absolutely fantastic, and finances have got to be right for the football club.
"Jelavic and Long were a little bit out of our reach but that doesn't mean that we can't players in who can help us and push us forward to stay in the Premier League.
"Hopefully by the end of the week we'll bring some players in."
