Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis is on the lookout for new players who will "roll their sleeves up" between now, the end of the season and beyond.
A number of players are currently being linked to Selhurst Park as expected, but the boss has identified the type of player he is after.
"I'm looking for players who are available, of course," said Pulis.
"The most important thing for this football club is that we bring players in who have got something to prove.
"I don't want to bring players in, if I can help it, who just turn up and want a job through six months.
"We need people who are really, really going to roll their sleeves up and work hard and make a difference, but also adding to what we have at the moment.
"I've got players, and the chairman has got that list of players. We need to do it, we need to get deals done if we're going to push on.
"That's always been my thoughts and that was before I came into the football club."
Pulis admitted recently he would like to add further players to his squad early in January, but it has proved harder than first thought - and he wants the fans to understand that.
He said: "Transfers are hard. It's dealing with so many things you have to consider.
"Clubs have to agree with clubs, players have to agree, and agents get involved.
"It's not as simple as people think. I am hoping we can get some in quickly."
