PALACE Academy Director Gary Issott was delighted for Hiram Boateng after the midfielder featured for the first team in the West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup on Saturday.
However, he believes if the youngster, who turned 18 today, can't force his way into Tony Pulis' first team on a regular basis, Palace will look to send him out on loan to a Football League club.
"It's great that the manager is giving him the opportunity to play in the FA Cup," Issott told the Advertiser.
"It was a good experience for him and he's played in a team that has won on the day.
"I think the next step for Hiram now is to get some league action, potentially on loan if he can't break into the first team in the next four to five months."
