A FAMILY were kicked out of their home two days before Christmas over a string of crime and anti-social behaviour.
Sheryl Pillai and extended family are banned from the housing association property in Freelands Avenue, Monks Hill, following a court order on December 23.
The family fled the property in October over "large groups of young men" turning up repeatedly at the estate amid a surge anti-social activity at the address, a Croydon Council spokesperson said.
But they returned intermittently "causing further trouble each time," a spokesman for Croydon Council added today (Monday).
The family moved into the address in April 2012, and immediately starting holding noisy late night parties and causing other low-level nuisance.
By October 2013 the anti-social behaviour had escalated and police were called to the address more and more.
A Council spokesperson added: "During this month large groups of young men attended the estate, with police called to disperse them on several occasions."
Croydon police's anti-social behaviour team said "numerous attempts" were made to talk to the family and avert eviction.
But, he added: "They refused to improve their behaviour and even became aggressive towards the people that were trying to help them."
The closure order was granted at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court after the police and the council told of "a history of criminal incidents and ASB at the address" since Ms Pillai and extended family moved in.
The application was not contested.
The landlord, Amicus Horizon, has started possession proceedings on the property.
