JOEL Ward has been brandished as the "ultimate professional" by Crystal Palace skipper Mile Jedinak.
The full-back played his second consecutive game in central midfield alongside Jedinak at Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
"Having Wardy next to me, he is the ultimate professional," the Australian told the Advertiser.
"He is willing to learn, and he has played that position before but just hasn't for a while.
"All I can do is provide my experience with some words of encouragement and helping him out as much as I can.
"We saw against Villa, we looked really strong and solid.
"Full credit to Wardy but to the whole team as well for sticking to the gameplan."
