ATHLETICS: Lee Flanagan, from Striders of Croydon, ran very well to finish 33rd out of more than 9,000 runners in the Brighton Marathon last Sunday, recording a personal best of two hours, 54.02min.
Club colleague Darren Bird did well to record three hours and 27 seconds exactly.
There were also good runs from Matthew Chapman (3.07.30), Mike Stewart (3.20.25) and club secretary Chris Morton (3.21.35).
Striders' first woman to finish was Sandie Fay, who ran very well to record a personal best of three hours, 55 minutes and 12 seconds.
Club chairman Robin Jamieson, who set a new club over-65 record of four hours and 17 minutes, broke the previous record by more than ten minutes.
