A YOUNG social entrepreneur working to revitalise Croydon has been recognised for her efforts in leading social projects with a national award.
Laura Mumford won the "future leader" award category at the national Young Achievers Award ceremony 2013, which were held last night.
She volunteered to help write a successful funding bid for OUR Croydon, a social enterprise working to bring empty properties back into use as affordable homes for local people.
The project is delivering a programme to renovate 22 empty homes in Croydon.
Laura said: "It's a wonderful project to work on."
Paul Funnell, from Croydon, nominated Laura for the award. He said: "It is great that the Young Achievers Trust recognise the hard work and commitment of young people like Laura."
