A MOTORCYCLIST was killed in a hit and run on London Road in the early hours of this morning.
Metropolitan Police were called to the crash at 1am this morning (Monday). Paramedics treated a man at the scene but he was pronounced dead at 1.45am.
The man's motorbike was in a collision with a black Lexus which did not stop after the crash. It was found abandoned nearby in St James's Road.
A 23-year-old woman was arrested later today at a Croydon address and is in custody at a south London police station.
A police spokesman said the motorcyclist's next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination and formal identification will happen in due course.
