Government minister Lord Freud who went to Whitgift School in South Croydon apologises for saying disabled workers 'not worth the full wage'

A GOVERNMENT minister who went to Whitgift School has apologised for saying disabled workers are "not worth the full wage". Lord David Freud, the welfare minister, made the comments during a fringe event at the Conservative conference last month. Responding to a question from a Tory councillor, Lord Freud said: "You make a really good point about the disabled. "Now I had not thought through, and we have not got a system for, you know, kind of going below the minimum wage. "There is a group, and I know exactly who you mean, where actually as you say they're not worth the full wage." He offered a "full and unreserved apology" today as Prime Minister David Cameron condemned his comments.
