ONE of Britain's "happiest" people is in the running to represent the Green Party in Croydon Central at next May's general election.
Esther Sutton used to run the Green Dragon in the town centre before she moved to the Oval Tavern in East Croydon last year. The popular landlady was included in the Independent's annual Happy List in 2013.
The Pubwatch chairman is up against activist Tracey Hague who stood in Croham in May and represented the party at the Advertiser's election debate.
Mrs Hague turned down the chance to be a political lobbyist for Greenpeace to join the Greens shortly before the elections in 2010.
Party members have been balloted on the selection with a result due on October 20.
