FLATS could be built in Vodafone's former base next to a roundabout in Broad Green, with the building's owners set to unveil plans later this year.
Workspace Group is preparing a full planning application to convert Lombard House, on the Lombard roundabout where Mitcham Road and Purley Way meets, into up to 120 flats.
The group is planning to demolish the existing building to make way for five to six storeys of flats and up to 3000 square metres of employment space.
The offices in the block have not been fully met since 2005 when Vodafone relocated its headquarters.
Workspace Group has submitted an application to Croydon Council to see whether it needs to carry out a full Environmental Impact Assessment.
