JASON Puncheon wasn't too downbeat about losing to Brentford on Saturday and believes Palace's match sharpness will come in time ahead of the big kick-off in less than two weeks' time.
The first team play Augsburg in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday although some may get a run-out against Bromley on Tuesday alongside the club's Development Squad.
Puncheon has had no qualms about how tough the pre-season training has been either under Tony Pulis.
"The season is getting close for us now with two weeks to go and it's important to get a good run, but the sharpness will come," the winger told the Advertiser.
"Pre-season was hard, they're always hard, that's what they're there for. They get you fit and it has to be hard but the most important thing against Brentford was to get a run about and work our socks off.
"All managers are tough and have different styles but it's to get you fit. The main objective is you getting fit and everyone else getting through it.
"I feel fine, it was good to get a full 90 minutes but you just want to get that sharpness and it will come. We just keep going."Follow your Crystal Palace reporter on Twitter @MR_LWMedia and the Advertiser sports desk @AdvertiserSport for news, interviews and matchday tweets.
