A WOMAN has died after the car she was driving collided head-on with a bus in New Addington.
The woman, 39, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on Homestead Way, shortly after 1am this morning.
The driver and passengers of the single-decker bus did not require treatment by ambulance crews.
Firefighters were called to the incident at 12.14am, with crews from New Addington, Croydon as well at the London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance attending.
The woman is yet to be formally identified, though next of kin have been informed.
The road was shut for several hours, though the vehicles have now been moved from the scene and the road has reopened.
Officers from the Met's Serious Accident Investigations Unit are investigating. Police have asked anyone with information to contact 020 8285 1574.
