Crystal Palace fans hit out at Aston Villa supporters' behaviour during Hillsborough minute's silence

CRYSTAL Palace fans have this evening taken to Twitter to criticise the behaviour of some Aston Villa supporters before today's match at Selhurst Park. The game kicked off at 3.07pm and was proceeded by a minute's silence, as a mark of respect for the 96 football fans who lost their lives at the FA Cup Semi-final 25 years ago this week. But some of the Villa supporters at Selhurst Park were heard to be chanting and singing during the period of reflection - which was observed at all matches today in memory of the Hillsborough disaster victims. Rob Sutherland, Advertiser columnist and editor of Eagles fanzine Five Year Plan, tweeted: "I used to hold Aston Villa fans in quite a high regard. Thought of them as the better Birmingham club. Not now. Behaved quite awfully today." @TomGordon98 echoed those sentiments, saying: "Can't believe how disrespectful the Aston villa fans were today during the minutes silence for Hillsborough #disgrace #JTF96" And @henry_number_8 added: "Aston Villa fans make me sick shouting things during the minute silence.."
