CARDIFF City have reportedly sacked a member of staff after an internal inquiry into allegations their team was leaked to Crystal Palace before the two clubs met last Saturday. The Bluebirds' owner Vincent Tan has lodged a complaint to the Premier League based on allegations the Eagles' sporting director Iain Moody used contacts at his former club to gather information about team selection and tactics. It has been reported an internal investigation has already led to the sacking of one staff member, with another set to be disciplined. Moody has strenuously denied the allegations, saying they are "incredibly, extraordinarily untrue" and pointed out it is normally possible to guess an opponent's team "within one or two players". Palace chairman Steve Parish has dismissed the idea as far-fetched and also questioned whether knowing an opponent's starting line-up would have a dramatic effect on a result. Moody joined Palace in-between Ian Holloway's departure and Tony Pulis' appointment after he was sacked by Tan. The Malaysian owner blamed Moody and Cardiff's then-manager Malky Mackay for spending too much money in the summer transfer window. Palace edged closer to survival after the 3-0 victory over Cardiff last Saturday, while Tan's side look destined for the drop.
