CRYSTAL Palace legend Geoff Thomas has called on the Eagles to reward goalkeeper Julian Speroni with a new contract. The Argentine has been in top form this season, especially following the arrival of Wayne Hennessey in January, and there is a chance he could go to the World Cup if selected. Speroni is out of contract at the end of the season and there have been concerns the 34-year-old may leave Selhurst Park after a decade. "He has been a tremendous servant to Palace and I think it would be very sad if he were to leave this summer," Thomas exclusively told the Advertiser for his newspaper column. "He has been loyal and he has been there with the ups and downs. He has always been a constant performer and I just think players like that should be rewarded. "Obviously there comes a point where it becomes a business deal but you have got to look at what he performs week in, week out. It's rare he has a howler. "If he gets called up for Argentina for the World Cup, his availability moves up to the world stage and he wouldn't lack admirers."Don't miss Geoff Thomas' full column in Friday's Croydon Advertiser.
