A TEENAGER has been sentenced to 16 months in jail after committing a string of burglaries across Croydon and south London.
Omar Galleze, 19, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to carrying out 45 burglaries and was sentenced to 16 months in a young offenders institution at Croydon Crown Court on March 11.
Galleze was arrested in Moorside Road, Bromley on January 28, after being forensically linked to a burglary in Palace View, Bromley, committed on January 11.
When quizzed, he admitted committing the spate of offences - 24 across Bromley, 12 in Lewisham, and nine in Croydon.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Furphy said: "Galleze is a prolific offender and his conviction should serve as a warning to other burglars."
The detective added that Galleze's conviction was possible thanks to the National Fingerprint identification database and "extensive DNA processes."
