COMEDIAN Ronnie Corbett is likely to end his TV career after another health scare, according to reports today.
The 83-year-old, who lives in Shirley, was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital, in Bromley, last Sunday, after suffering chest and stomach pains.
His condition wasn't fully diagnosed after several days of tests but the veteran comic's wife Anne told a national newspaper it is enough to make him reassess his career.
"He won't be doing any more TV - he's 83. He won't be like Bruce Forsyth," she is quoted as saying.
Corbett, one half of the legendary Two Ronnies double act along with Ronnie Barker, who died in 2005, was well enough by Thursday to be discharged to attend a memorial service for his good friend Sir David Frost, who passed away last year.
In January 2012, the Advertiser reported how Corbett had been taken ill while out celebrating his inclusion on the New Year's Honours list at a Croydon restaurant.
He collapsed at Tai Tung Chinese restaurant at the Wing Yip centre in Purley Way, days after being appointed CBE for his services to entertainment.
At the time, Anne told us: "He is now just resting but I think he will have to slow down a bit. He is 81 and he never stops."
