CROYDON CONUNDRUM: Which shop would you most like to be trapped in and why?

THERE are the big issues and then there is the minutiae of everyday life – the perhaps trivial yet vital things that dominate pub chat on a Friday night. In honour, celebration even, of the mundane yet glorious, the Advertiser today proudly launches a new feature, tackling the issues that don't matter. The Croydon Conundrum will take a daily look at the type of questions and scenarios which, frankly, aren't going to make front page news, yet do make for plenty of conversation, debate – even aspiration. The feature has been born out of an Advertiser brainstorming session (ok, two team members on a car journey home today – whose identities, for now, will remain anonymous) Forget Westfield, the possible Crystal Palace tram extension or the Croydon gentrification debate, we want to get to the heart of far meatier concerns. With that in mind, here's our first-ever Croydon Conundrum, suggested by an Advertiser reporter who shall, again, remain nameless. Or Andrew Jameson, as he's better known:If you could be trapped overnight in a shop in Croydon, which one would you choose and why? Some suggestions: Ikea has obvious attractions, including as it does almost every room you'd find in a large family home, while others may prefer the child-like fantasy of Kiddicare or the comfort of John Lewis. Or, if you're a fast-food fan, a night tucking into burgers in McDonalds could appeal. We want your suggestions and answers to the conundrum – please leave them below, comment on our Facebook page or Tweet, using the #croydonconundrum We've also put a few suggestions of our own in the poll at the bottom of the page, if you want to vote for the shop you'd most like to be stranded in. We're determined the Croydon Conundrum won't be a flash in the pan, rather a brave, innovative feature that will stand the test of time and become the big debating point for the people of Croydon. If not, we'll quietly ditch this after a week or so….
