THE team at Fairfield Halls have won an award for their part in pioneering a new apprenticeship programme.
The theatre was praised for the scope and delivery of its new Technical Theatre Apprenticeship Scheme at the Creative and Cultural Skills Awards Dinner.
At the event on March 5, Fairfield Halls was presented with the Best Collaboration between Education and Industry Award, celebrating its support of the new scheme.
Simon Thomsett, Chief Executive, Fairfield Halls said: "It's important for companies like Fairfield to offer opportunities for people who are at the start of their professional careers.
"There's nothing that beats getting proper, hands-on experience, working alongside established practitioners to acquire new skills. In turn, we benefit from the new energy the apprentices bring, their enthusiasm and their fresh outlook on things."
Fairfield Halls also played an important part in the launch of the Croydon Apprenticeship Accord, a programme designed to promote apprenticeships throughout the borough.
