Firefighters will be cutting up cars in Croydon town centre today (Saturday March 8) - as part of a road safety exercise.
The Croydon firefighters will be carrying out simulated car crash rescues in North End.
They will also be offering road safety advise alongside road safety charity Brake.
Crew manager Daniel Foster, who will be at the event, said: "London Fire Brigade is called to around ten road traffic accidents every day which is why it's vital to have regular opportunities to practise our rescue skills.
"Croydon shoppers will get front row seats to this unique spectacle, as our crews use hydraulic equipment to cut up the cars and rescue people from inside it."
He added: "As well as an opportunity for the public to see our skills in action this is also an opportunity to highlight the importance of road safety."
The crews will be in North End from 11am until 3pm, with rescue demonstrations at midday and 2pm.
