TWO Crystal Palace players were blasted by boss Tony Pulis after trying to con referee Mike Dean in their game at Swansea City yesterday, and it seems they should indeed leave the diving to the local talent instead.
Crystal Palace Diving Club travelled to Plymouth for the four day diving competition, The Armada Cup, last week, taking gold in five events.
The team came third overall, behind Plymouth, with nine golds, and City of Sheffield with six.
The competition featured clubs from around the UK from as far as Scotland and Ireland plus a host of clubs from England.
In total, the divers competed in 25 competitions ranging from nine years old to over 16, including 1m and 3m solo and synchro, platform, 5m and 7.5m and a specialist high dive competition from the 10m board.
Some of the GB junior team divers included Sarah Barrow, Shanice Lobb, Victoria Vincent, Daniel Goodfellow and Matthew Dixon. The competition was led by Plymouth head coach and television programme 'Splash' judge, Andy Banks, who said: "The whole event went off brilliantly and was well supported by the public on every one of the four days."
The club also have seven divers selected by the England Talent Zone squad on the pathway towards Elite and Olympic development.
The next training camp is due to be held March 7-9 at London Olympic Aquatic Centre, Stratford. Future competitions include a Novice to National Skills, levels one and two, in Waltham Forest and an age group, level three, at the G-Star diving competition in Leeds March 28-30.
