JONNY Williams admitted the speed of his loan move to Ipswich Town took him by surprise.
The 20-year-old Wales international has joined the tractor boys for a month - just four days after bagging a goal for Palace's under 21s in their 2-1 over Ipswich's U21 team on Monday night.
Williams says the move happened quickly, but added he's looking forward to getting some first-team action under his belt at the play-off chasing Championship outfit.
"I didn't expect to be back here so quickly after playing at Ipswich on Monday but I'm really looking forward to my time here," Williams told the Ipswich club website.
"Tony Pulis told me I would be going out on loan after the game against Manchester United last weekend and I think there were two or three clubs interested.
"I spoke to Mick McCarthy after the game on Monday though and he told me Ipswich were interested and where he sees me playing in the team. He talked about his ambitions and I was excited about the challenge of coming here.
"I know what a great club Ipswich is. I know they have been in the top flight and I know that's where they want to get back to."
