A MAN has been taken to hospital after being hit by a double-decker bus in the town centre.
The 25-year-old pedestrian has been taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting as a priority, with head and chest injuries.
The man's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.
He was apparently hit by a 119 bus travelling through George Street out of Croydon town centre at approximately 1.15pm today
The scene was attended by an ambulance, at least four police cars and a TFL bus incident response unit.
The man appears to have been hit by the front left of the bus, which had its windscreen severely cracked.
Although air ambulance did arrive at the scene, the man was eventually taken to hospital by road in an ambulance.
Road closures were put in place in the immediate area as emergency services responded to the incident but were re-opened again at 3.45pm.
