THERE is at least one benefit of the downpours currently drenching Croydon, the Advertiser has learned.
Sutton and East Surrey Water today confirmed to us that, at this stage, there are no plans to introduce a hosepipe ban this winter.
Such restrictions have been a feature of recent summers, especially in the south of England, due to a lack of rainfall in the winter months.
But, as you cannot fail to have noticed, there have been no such problems this year so far.
So, once the rain ceases and the flood water drains away, here's a comforting thought - at least you'll be able to wash your car in peace during the sunny days of July and August.
