CRYSTAL Palace new boy Scott Dann revealed he received some friendly banter from his team-mates after Saturday's 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion.
Dann was one of three players making their debuts for Palace – and two of them scored to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead in the first half in the shape of Tom Ince and Joe Ledley.
The centre-back, who is looking to build a partnership alongside Damien Delaney in the heart of defence, is, however, targeting his fair share of goals before the end of the season.
"It was great to win on my debut and it was a great performance from the lads - we got we deserved," Dann told the Advertiser.
"I think when you come in and play alongside someone, you need to get to grips with the way they play, and it's obviously the other way round with me.
"I thought it went well and the more myself and Damien play together, the better we'll get.
"I got a bit of stick after the game as the only one who didn't score on their debut!
"Hopefully I can chip with a few goals from now until the end of the season and make sure we get to where we want to be."
Ince in particular shone throughout for Palace and Dann is looking forward to witnessing a few more dazzling performances for Tony Pulis' side.
"He played really well and that's what he's capable of - he's a really good player," said the deadline day signing.
"If you can get the ball to him in certain types of areas, he's clinical. He showed that against West Brom."
And Dann believes if Palace can continue with the same attitude, they will avoid relegation comfortably.
But now they come up against the likes of Everton and Manchester United in the next couple of weeks.
Dann said: "Every game is a tough game in this league. Going away to Everton and then at home to Manchester United, you're up against two of the best teams in the league.
"If we keep going and show that kind of fight, determination and togetherness, I'm sure we'll do OK.
"The league is so close and we need to keep on pushing up to get us as high as we can.
"We need to make sure we get the right results, especially when we need them and stay away from the bottom of the table."
