CRYSTAL Palace boss Tony Pulis admitted his wide players Yannick Bolasie and Jason Puncheon didn't put in the sort of performances he would have hoped as Palace went down to a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal. Puncheon was the match winner against Hull in midweek but, along with Bolasie, failed to have an impact at the Emirates and left Pulis hoping for a bit more. "We've played Chelsea, Tottenham and Man City away and we've looked a real threat against those three teams and did really well at all the grounds," he said. "The two wide players played exceptionally well on those days and our two wide players I didn't think played as well today. So we weren't the threat that we were hoping to be." Palace held out until half time but conceded a quick goal to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain just after the break, before Cameron Jerome missed a golden opportunity to level a few seconds later. Pulis added: "The lads kept working kept going and we're really disappointed to give a poor goal away just after half time and that was their big moment. "Our big moment happened 90 seconds later down the other end and we don't take it - that's really the difference in lots of respects today." Marouane Chamakh returned to Arsenal for the first time since leaving the club in the summer to join Palace and although his afternoon proved fruitless, Pulis was impressed with the 30-year-old. "Chamakh has been fantastic since I came into this football club," Pulis said. "He's a real, real good guy and he's enjoying his football which is lovely. "I took him off because I thought he was too enthusiastic and he might get booked again and we'd lose him." Pulis also had words of praise for the Eagles supporters who outsung their muted hosts from the first minute to the last, and claimed the fans can help the club stay in the top flight. He said: "I'm disappointed today because we've played a lot better than that at the other clubs. "Our supporters were wonderful again today. The great thing about the football club is they've bought into the situation we're in, the unity between the players and the supporters will get us through. "Some of the lads have not played as well as they have done away from home which is disappointing but they kept working and they showed really good togetherness."
