NEW signings Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long look set to feature for Hull City against Crystal Palace tonight (Tuesday).
Former Palace boss Steve Bruce, now in charge of the Tigers, says the duo – signed from Everton and West Brom respectively in the past week – could form a potent partnership, starting with the visit to SE25.
"We hope, fingers crossed, they can work well together. That's why we've paid all this money," Bruce told our sister paper the Hull Daily Mail.
"One's big, strong and powerful (Jelavic) and the other is quick, mobile and plays off (Long).
"It's got to be given a bit of time but it's got all the makings of a good partnership.
"Shane gives us something we haven't had before and that's pace in behind. We've never been able to go in behind, tactically.
"Both have got a great attitude for it. Both have fit in very well and have a great worth ethic in a team situation."
