Here is the latest verse from our new Crystal Palace poet James Miller.
Inspired by this weekend's clash with Tony Pulis' former club it is entitled 'Stoke the fire'.
Enjoy.....
Frustrating week, first half well played,
wishing they took the chances they made.
Chamakh went down, away end hissed,
elation to frustration, as the penalties missed.
Points dropped away, but at home we won't choke,
as the red and blue army prepare for Stoke.
The pride of South London, never sing with heads down,
so unleash the eagle, the Potters are in town.
Tony with previous, lay ghosts to rest,
New home, new team, new club, new crest.
Red and white stripes V the red and the blues,
battles of pride for Pulis and Hughes.
Main stand, row B, my ticket bought,
chant loud, sing proud, showing support.
The fortress of Selhurst, for eagles to land,
shouts for offside from the Arthur Wait stand.
So one goal or two, to three, to four.
Bookies odds for Jerome to score.
A mid winter match, the floodlights lit,
two teams known for underdog grit.
3 points a must, a 6 pointer weekend,
to be quick in attack and quick back to defend.
Cheers and the chants from every Palace fan,
At Selhurst I'll be, on the 18th of Jan.
