THAT'S a pretty ugly picture isn't it?
Multiply that by six or seven, and you get the scene I encountered in Croydon town centre this afternoon.
When I posted these photos on Twitter, it transpired the orange bags contain rubbish from the town centre bins, which are ready to be picked up by refuse collectors.
Fair enough - you can hardly call this fly-tipping. And, as one commenter pointed out, "it's nice to see that people are using the bins".
But this doesn't alter the fact that having garish orange bags full of rubbish lining our town's streets at 4pm in the afternoon looks pretty awful.
A simple solution? Get more bins? Or perhaps get some bigger bins.
Either way - we could do without our flagship streets resembling a rubbish dump.
