PREVIEW: Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace

THE Eagles head to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, aiming to take advantage of Spurs' slight injury worries.

Can you believe how quickly it has gone since the first day of the season when Palace were narrowly beaten at home by Spurs?

Palace were finding their feet in the Premier League but it was not an easy ride for Spurs, winning the game with a penalty from Roberto Soldado.

How things have changed since. Both clubs have new managers, and Palace look harder to beat under Tony Pulis.

He is not expected to land any new signings before Saturday, but he looks set to bring back some of the players rested at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Mile Jedinak looks like he will come back into the frame in midfield, although the Australian missed last weekend's game due to a groin complaint, while Dwight Gayle and Marouane Chamakh did their chances no harm following their goals at the Hawthorns. Indeed, former Arsenal man Chamakh could do the damage on the Gunners' rivals.

Cameron Jerome missed the game at West Brom due to a knee problem but could be recalled to go up against the likes of Michael Dawson and Vlad Chiriches, while it seems Barry Bannan and Jason Puncheon will fight it out for a place on the wing.

After another clean sheet last weekend, Pulis may decide to stick with the same defence, although Joel Ward will also come back into the fray and could either line-up at left-back, right-back or centre midfield.

The versatile defender has been suffering from a stiff calf muscle in recent weeks but should be fit.

For Spurs, Emmanuel Adebayor has been recalled since Tim Sherwood's appointment, and he has hit some form.

He is expected to partner Soldado in attack, while Christian Eriksen is a big threat with his creativity from wide areas and through the middle.

Whoever Pulis puts at left-back, they'll need to be quick to stop Aaron Lennon, who is a tricky customer with his pace, and an interesting battle in the middle of the park could be Mousa Dembele up against Jedinak.

Paulinho and Sandro are both out injured, so Spurs could bring Etienne Capoue into the equation to play against Jedinak, Dikgacoi or Ward.

There is no doubt Spurs will attack Palace from the off, especially at home and under Sherwood's style of play – but if the Eagles can maintain their defensive form during recent weeks, they have a chance of coming away from north London with at least a point.

"They have got some players doubtful but they'll still be strong," assistant boss Keith Millen said.

"Paulinho, in the game we watched him, was excellent, but he's out, and Roberto Soldado could be doubtful, I believe.

"Whoever plays there though, they've got a great squad and strength in depth.

"Tim Sherwood has got them playing slightly differently now, a little bit more attack-minded, and they're pressing.

"They have changed their style but they are a little bit in transition if Tim is changing their tactics. We know what a tough game it's going to be, whatever team they put out."

The game also marks Tottenham's 200th London derby in the Premier League - the first club to reach that milestone.
