A MEMBER of staff at a Selsdon college has been presented with the British Empire Medal for her work in the community.
Jean Marsden has worked in a variety of roles at John Ruskin College for more than 25 years, and is currently the admission and reception services manager.
After being nominated by the college for her services to education in September 2011, her name appeared in the Queens Birthday Honours list in June 2012, in which she was awarded The British Empire Medal.
The Lord Lieutenant of Greater London, Sir David Brewer, presented Jean with her medal at an investiture at the New Armouries, The Tower of London last month
Jean said: "It was a day I shall always cherish".
