Tony Pulis admits Crystal Palace were second-best against Newcastle

CRYSTAL Palace boss Tony Pulis had no complaints after seeing his side outplayed by Newcastle United. The Magpies chalked up an impressive 3-0 win at Selhurst Park on Saturday - dominating the game from start to finish. Pulis isn't panicking, having seen an upturn in the Eagles' fortunes since his arrival, but says Palace will need to learn lessons from the defeat - and fast. He said: "I can't criticise the players, they've been brilliant since we've come in. "But you have to show resolve in every game. You can't be doing stuff off your own back. It's a lesson we have to learn very quickly." Pulis, whose side had conceded just three goals in six games prior to Saturday, was unhappy with the defending for Newcastle's first two goals, describing it as "awful". Alan Pardew's side ran out 3-0 winners, thanks to Yohan Cabaye and a Danny Gabbidon own goal in the first half, before Hatem Ben Arfa added the gloss with a late penalty.
